How it Works:

Air Intake:

The device draws in room air, which is a mixture of gases. 

Concentration:

The air passes through internal filters that remove nitrogen, a process that concentrates the oxygen.

The concentrated, medical-grade oxygen is then delivered through a nasal cannula or mask to the patient. 

Continuous Flow:

To use a 5L oxygen concentrator, set it up on a flat, stable surface with good ventilation, plug it into a grounded electrical outlet, and turn it on. Connect the nasal cannula or mask, ensure the tubing is not kinked, and fill the humidifier bottle with distilled water if prescribed. Adjust the flow rate to your prescribed setting using the flow meter or controls, then place the cannula in your nostrils or wear the mask comfortably. 

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Placement:

Position the concentrator on a flat, stable surface, ensuring at least 6 inches of space around it for proper airflow and ventilation. Keep it away from heat sources and flammable materials. 

2. Power:

Plug the concentrator into a grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords. 

3. Humidifier (If needed):

Unscrew the humidifier bottle, add distilled water between the minimum and maximum fill lines, and securely attach it to the concentrator. 

4. Oxygen Delivery Connection:

Attach the tubing from your nasal cannula or face mask to the oxygen outlet on the concentrator or humidifier. 

5. Turn On:

Press the power switch to turn the unit on. Allow 15-20 minutes for the machine to reach its optimal oxygen concentration before use. 

6. Adjust Flow:

Adjust the flow meter knob or control panel to your prescribed setting (e.g., 0 to 5 liters per minute). A solid green light usually indicates correct oxygen purity. 

7. Use Delivery System:

Place the nasal cannula prongs in your nostrils or put on the face mask. Ensure a comfortable fit and that the tubing is not kinked. 

8. Monitor:

Monitor the device for any alarms, which may indicate low oxygen purity or maintenance needs. 

Important Reminders

Doctor's Prescription: Always follow your doctor's prescribed oxygen flow rate. 

Distilled Water: Use only distilled or purified water in the humidifier bottle. 

Cleaning: Clean the humidifier bottle every three days and wash the air filter monthly. 

Safety: Avoid using oils or petroleum-based products around the oxygen system, and keep the unit at least 6 to 8 feet away from any heat source.
