A full electric home care bed is an adjustable bed for home use that uses electric motors controlled by a hand pendant to adjust the head, foot, and overall height of the bed. Key features often include a robust steel frame, integrated side rails for safety, and a battery backup for manual operation during power outages. These beds are designed to provide comfort, safety, and independence for users with limited mobility and make it easier for caregivers to manage patient care.

Key Components & Features

Electric Motors:

DC low-voltage motors power the adjustments for the head, foot, and height of the bed.

Hand Pendant:

A handheld remote with large, easy-to-use buttons allows the user or caregiver to control the bed's positions.

Adjustable Head & Foot Sections:

The bed's head and foot areas can be independently raised or lowered to achieve various comfortable and functional positions.

Adjustable Height:

The entire bed can be raised or lowered, which is crucial for both patient accessibility and caregiver ergonomics, reducing strain on staff.

Steel Frame:

A sturdy, reinforced steel frame provides durability and supports significant weight, ensuring long-lasting use.

Safety Features:

Side Rails: Optional or included half or full-length rails can be attached to prevent falls.

Battery Backup: A 9V battery allows the bed to be moved to its lowest position during a power failure, ensuring continued access and safety.

Recessed Assemblies: Headspring and foot assemblies are often recessed to reduce the risk of pinching injuries.

Mobility & Maintenance:

Casters: Smooth-rolling casters, often with locking mechanisms, allow for easy transport and positioning.

Lightweight Design: Some models feature lightweight components and easy-to-remove motor boxes to simplify setup, delivery, and maintenance.

Washable Ends: Interchangeable or washable bed ends are a common feature for easy cleaning.
