To use a 3-crank manual hospital bed, locate the three cranks at the foot of the bed: one for the head elevation, one for the foot (or knee) elevation, and one for the overall bed height. Turn the corresponding crank clockwise to raise that section of the bed and counter-clockwise to lower it. Store the crank at the foot of the bed when not in use. 

Step-by-Step Operation

1. Locate the Cranks:

Find the three hand cranks located at the foot of the bed, underneath the frame. 

2. Identify the Function:

Each crank controls a different movement: 

Head Crank: Adjusts the angle of the backrest. 

Foot (Knee) Crank: Adjusts the angle of the leg section. 

Height Crank: Raises and lowers the entire bed vertically. 

3. Insert the Crank:

Insert the notched end of the crank into the appropriate connection to begin making adjustments. 

4. Raise or Lower:

To Raise: Turn the desired crank clockwise. 

To Lower: Turn the desired crank counter-clockwise. 

5. Store the Crank:

Once adjustments are complete, detach the crank and store it in its designated bracket at the foot of the bed. 

Tips for Usage

Patient Comfort:

The different crank functions allow for various patient positions to enhance comfort and meet clinical needs. 

Emergency Use:

These manual cranks can be used during a power outage to adjust the bed's position.
